Hong Kong Style Mahjong
Payouts
Hand levels, bonus conditions, and dollar payouts for every winning combination.
Basic Scores by Hand Pattern
The base level of your hand is determined by its pattern. Higher levels pay out more — bonus conditions stack on top of these base levels.
Bonus Levels
These bonuses are added on top of your base hand level. Multiple bonuses can apply to the same hand.
Payout Table
Payouts are per player. For a Self-Help win (self-drawn), all three other players each pay the Self Help amount. For a From Discard win, only the player who discarded the winning tile pays.
Example: A Level 4 self-drawn win earns the winner 3 × $96 = $288 total. A Level 4 discard win earns $64 from the discarder only.
| Level | Base Pay Out per player |
Self Help all 3 players pay |
From Discard discarder only |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 0 | $2 | $6 | $4 |
| Level 1 | $4 | $12 | $8 |
| Level 2 | $8 | $24 | $16 |
| Level 3 | $16 | $48 | $32 |
| Level 4 | $32 | $96 | $64 |
| Level 5 | $48 | $144 | $96 |
| Level 6 | $64 | $192 | $128 |
| Level 7 | $96 | $288 | $192 |
| Level 8 | $128 | $384 | $256 |
A Level 8 self-drawn win is the highest single payout: all three players each pay $384, giving the winner a total of $1,152. Achievable with hands like Thirteen Orphans, Pure Pong, or Pure All-Chow — especially with bonus levels stacked on top.
